Favorite Summer Cocktails

In preparation for the summer ahead, I always like to have a few refreshing drink recipes on hand. I'm a big fan of craft cocktails and have been really inspired by my recent trip to Chicago (see travel guide here). These are some of my favorites right now.

Gin

The Gin Sour Old Fashioned
1 shot of Gin
1 shot of Sour Cherry
A few drops of Orange Bitters
Shake and Pour over Ice
Top off with Tonic or Sour Mix
Garnish with orange slice

Whiskey

The Cold Toddy
2 shots of Whiskey
1 Tablespoon of honey
1 Tablespoon of lemon juice
Shake and pour over Ice
Garnish with lemon slice 

Champagne

The Bubbly Berry
1 shot of Elderflower liquer
1 Tablespoon of muddled berry of your choice
Top off with Brut champagne 
Garnish with one berry 

Liqueur

The Ginger Pimm's (recipe for whole pitcher)
Start with pitcher and plenty of ice
Cut up one orange, one lemon and half a cucumber into slices add to bottom of pitcher
1 bottle of Pimm's
Top off pitcher with Ginger Ale or Ginger Beer
Garnish glasses with mint and berries slice
