Michigan Cherry Old Fashioned
Image via Tending the Table
A few weeks back Dan and I went to visit some friends in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I found myself completely charmed by the town and it's specialty cocktails with cherry flavors. I needed to find the tart cherry ingredient that I had been tasting. So we went into Cherry Republic to track it down.
I ended up leaving with Tart Cherry Concentrate and after some experimentation, I landed on two great cherry cocktails.
Tart Cherry G & T
1.5 oz gin (something smooth to start with like Tanqueray)
.5 oz Tart Cherry concentrate
Lime juice to tastes
Top off with tonic
Garnish with a cherry and slice of lime
Bourbon Soaked Tart
2 oz of bourbon
.5 oz Tart Cherry concentrate
.5 oz Aperol
1 oz sweet vermouth
Dash of black walnut bitters
Dash of Angostura bitters
Garnish with cherry
